GRADUATE STUDIES ONLINE APPLICATION

Welcome to the UBC Graduate Studies Online Application.

To apply to a UBC graduate program, you must have a UBC Campus Wide Login (CWL) account. The CWL credential provides access to UBC's online services with one secure login ID.

REVIEW THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING!

  • As an individual you can have only one CWL account, even if you have multiple email addresses. If you create multiple CWL accounts, your admission application will not be forwarded to the graduate program until your CWL account has been reviewed. Creating multiple CWL accounts will cause a delay that may result in your application not being considered by the graduate program.
  • Unsuccessful previous applications connected to your CWL will not disadvantage your current or future application(s).
  • You must complete the application on your own behalf, except if you require support for accessibility reasons. Sharing a CWL with other applicants or third parties and creation of CWL accounts for other applicants is prohibited.

Important: If you have an existing CWL, e.g. as a former unsuccessful applicant, you are required to use the existing CWL account. Creating an additional CWL may lead to your application not being considered. Review the steps outlined above before proceeding to create a new CWL.

TROUBLESHOOTING / TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • We recommend use of Chrome, Firefox or Edge on desktop. Internet Explorer and Safari or mobile device browsers may cause issues. Your browser must support both cookies and JavaScript to proceed with the online application. See Browser Help for instructions and additional information.
  • You may encounter problems when you create multiple active sessions on multiple browsers/devices. In that case, close all sessions on all devices, clear the browser cache on all devices and try again. Alternatively, try using incognito/private browsing.
  • If you are inactive in the system for 60 minutes or longer, you will be logged out and you may lose data. If your responses to application questions require long-form text, it is recommended that you compile and save your draft text outside of the system to avoid data loss.
  • If you have incorrectly created another CWL account, get in touch with the UBC IT Services Centre early on to resolve this issue to avoid delays with your application.
  • UBC Alumni who graduated prior to the year 2000 won't have a CWL and will have to create one.
